The aim of the display was to attract attention to the display and the new Qualatex balloons being featured, but it also stimulated many conversations with potential customers looking at the displays... how much better to open a conversation with "they're really fun, and calorie free"! Rather than with the usual "can I help you" opening line!
With Mothers Day and Easter fast approaching, it's time to get creative and make some exciting and fun displays to promote these great events!
To make the cupcakes is really very easy and with beautiful cake cases and cardboard display stands you can re-create this lovely display in just a few minutes!
Pretty cupcake cases.
Pretty display stand.
5" balloons - choose a colour that looks like Icing/frosting.
160Q balloons - choose a colour that looks like a cherry.
160Q scraps for tying.
Elemer's Rubber Cement
It's really very simple, firstly you will need to inflate the 5" fully then drop the size down to enable you to easily create an 'Apple Twist'. If you want your cupcakes all to the same size, I would recommend that prepare all you balloons prior to the 'Apple Twist' so they are all consistent in size.
Once you have all your 'cakes' prepared, simply use a small amount of rubber cement to glue the 'cakes' into the cupcake cases.
To add the 'cherry', cut the tip off a 160Q (approx. 3cm), inflate the tip and tie off, remove any excess latex, then glue into position!
Here is a very short clip that will demonstrate how easy this is... it will also help anyone who struggles to make the 'apple twist'.
I hope you enjoy making your cakes and let me know what you customers think of them!
And don't forget to enter the Qualatex Spring Delivery and Balloon Gifts Contest on the Qualatex Facebook page! We would love to see all your great ideas for Mother's Day, Easter and other Spring Occasions!
