The GEO® Balloon celebrates 25 years!

25 years ago, Pioneer Balloon Company was excited to launch a revolutionary new balloon called the GEO Donut®! It was invented by Ronald E. Prater, an inventor who lived by the "never say never" philosophy!

A balloon with a hole through the centre, it turned many heads in amazement at the Chicago Party Show that it was first exhibited at. It gave the balloon world something completely new to work with and many exciting decor opportunities.

These awesome balloons have been used to create so many wonderful designs, here are a few of my favourites!

Fiona Fisher, CBA uses both the 6" & 16" Geo Blossoms® to create this fantastic Birthday "GEO Man".

By using a lovely selection of vibrant coloured GEO Blossom balloons, Fiona has created a design that is fun and very sellable!

Here is something very innovative and clever! Fiona has inverted 6" Geo Blossoms to create this stunning wedding design!

If you would like to learn this technique, check out a blog that I wrote called Inside-Out and Upside Down... the versatility of a Qualatex Geo Blossom!

Graham Lee of Balloon Art Design is one of UK's leading balloon artists. He has a talent for making balloon art that gets noticed! His work has appeared in many top publications such as Tatler and Vogue magazines! He has performed at Buckingham Palace and has appeared in the film "Magicians"! In his spare time he runs the very popular Balloon Chat forum and also runs his Balloon Art Wholesale business too, promoting and selling Qualatex balloons.

Graham loves to create designs working with Geo Blossoms; here are a few of his amazing and very creative balloon sculptures!

Later this year, Graham will be running a GEO Design Day at one of his Care and Share Days, which have been running very successfully for the past ten years all over the UK. They are for everyone to enjoy themselves while expanding their balloon knowledge. The days are designed for everyone, from the novice, beginner and experienced twister and the balloon decorator, as we all having something to share and to give back to our great community. I also wanted to share with you this wonderful design idea using GEO Blossoms for a 70's Alien theme party! These adorable Dance-Floor Aliens were designed by Debbie O'Neill of WOW Balloons, Essex, UK. These free-standing movers brought a great deal of fun and attention to the dance floor!

Here are a few more designs using the GEO Donut and Geo Blossom balloons that feature on the Qualatex website.

If a balloon with a hole in it can wow us, imagine what your customers will think!

The GEO balloon holds a very special place in my heart, as it was a 6" GEO Blossom that gave me my very first balloon competition win in 1995! Sadly, I don't have a picture of that design, as this was long before the world of digital photography. In honour of this very special balloon, I have created a little collection of characters to share with you!

GEO Bug

The 6" Geo Blossom Balloon works perfectly for this design! In the past I have always used a round balloon for the head, but I actually think that the GEO shape works really well! I can also see this design being used to make a snake too!

If you would like to learn how to make this design check out Sue's Recipes . I made this cute "Love Bug" Valentine's design that is made in the same way.

Little GEO Blossom People

These adorable little Geo Blossom People will make everyone smile. They would add value to a beautiful helium filled balloon bouquet! Perfect for Birthdays, Mother's Day, Get Well or simply to cheer someone up!

Coming soon! I know that some of you would like to know how to create these adorable Little Geo Blossom People, so in the next few weeks I will write a step-by-step recipe and feature it on a new blog!

A huge thank you to Fiona and Graham for their wonderful designs.

Happy Ballooning!
