Slovenia Event 2013 - Tropical Gala Party Decor

I have just returned home from The Slovenia Event which was held in Therme Catez, Slovenia, I am sure that many of you have seen some great pictures already posted on Facebook!

The Slovenia Event 5th, 6th & 7th October 2013 was organised by Renata and Niko Fric from Magic d.o.o. Slovenia, with support from Nikolett Forray, Balloon World Hungary and an awesome team of staff and helpers!

A fantastic group of delegates from 17 countries attended the 3 days that was filled with great classes, competitions, parties and a 24 hour Jam room!

I wanted to write a blog that specifically related to the Gala Party, the amazing designs and decor was just truly magical, so inspiring and definitely worth sharing!

So before I post the pictures I would like to congratulate the instructors who work so very hard to create new and exciting designs to share with delegates at events such as this! This was a great opportunity for many of us to work with the new Qualatex Quick LInk balloons and see many different ways to work with it!

Luc Bertrand CBA, Luc was the project leader for the Gala Party and designed a huge part of the party decor.

Pieter van Engen CBA, every tropical party needs beautiful tropical birds, and that is exactly what Pieter and his delegates made!

Romana Kolenc CBA, was responsible for making the awesome Quick-Link walls that Luc designed, and she also made the stunning table centrepieces too!

Sue Bowler CBA, finally I would like to show you what I made, 'Giant Tropical Flowers'! I was very excited when I designed these as they were a little different from the usual flowers we see made from balloons. I was inspired by some flowers that grow in my garden and took my design inspiration from them!

I worked with a great team who helped me to complete my design as I had not quite decided how the stems and leaves should look and I think that they did a great job!

Colin Stewart CBA Sbb-reliadrop

Colin flew in from Canada and immediately set to work on teaching a class on how to work with drop nets (reliadrop of course)! The effect was awesome and added even more excitement to the party!

I think that I say with confidence that everyone had a fantastic time, not just at the gala party, but during the building process too! Working on party decor is always very rewarding, seeing the end results when everything has been put into place is simply magical!

Congratulations to everyone who attended the Slovenia Event and took part in creating the decor for the Gala, we all thought that the room looked fantastic!

I am very much looking forward to the next great balloon event... The World Balloon Convention of course! I hope to see many of you there next March in Denver!
